It is completely paved but be careful of deep potholes along the road. We are able to reach this place using a sedan car with meticulous attention while driving. It is quite narrow such that it only allows only one car to pass through. The place is about 1.8km from the main road. The signboard is quite small and you need to slow down your car while approaching this place. If you have passed through the town of Lenggong, that's mean you already missed the entrance.</p><p><br /></p><p>Once you reach the place, you need to turn left and drive down towards the base of the hill to reach the registration counter. You can choose any available bamboo huts depending on the availability.</p><p><br /></p><p>There are two main toilets, with one located at the top of the hill and another one at the bottom of the bottom of the hill. Both are well maintained and clean.</p><p><br /></p><p>There is one man-made stream located right at the center which ends at the bottom of hill with two man-made pool. Personally the stream is strategically located and provide ambient atmosphere with scenic photoshoot. </p><p><br /></p><p>There are several swings / cradles in this place. Each of them provide good opportunity for nice photoshoot.</p><p><br /></p><p>There is dining area at the registration counter. You can either bring your own food or order the food in advance from the chef. The campsite is located at the base of the hill. The area is quite small though.</p><p><br /></p><p>There is waterfall located not far from place which is within walking distance. Be careful of the blood thirsty leeches along the route.</p><p><br /></p><p>There are two dogs who are guarding the place. Most of the time they are not leashed but you can request the staff to leash the dog. Apart from that, there is also one wild dog loitering around the place. Please be careful with your foods.</p><p><br /></p><p>The price is RM50 per person and childs below 3 years old is free of charge.</p><p><br /></p><p>The word 'hidden village' reminds me of The Hidden Leaf Village from the world of Naruto :)</p><p><br /></p><p>In summary, this place is recommended for those nature lovers and for those who love to post beautiful pictures in the social media.</p><div><br /></div>Hafizhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00924362146441123055noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7961005.post-29891587786762627302021-09-27T18:23:00.001+10:002021-09-27T18:23:22.958+10:00Cara menghadapi ujianPeringatan untuk diri sendiri dan para pembaca, <div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Setiap yang bernyawa pasti diuji. </div><div><br /></div><div></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;"><i>Daripada Abu al-'Abbas, Abdullah ibn Abbas, r.a. رضي االله عنهما</i></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i>beliau berkata:
Aku pernah duduk di belakang Nabi SAW pada suatu hari, lalu Baginda bersabda kepadaku: </i></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i>Wahai anak! Some people buy it as part of their investment. They
will rent the house to the potential tenant and may sell
it in the future.
Some people will purchase it and to stay at the house
for long term and most likely until they retired.
Depending on the purpose of purchasing the property, the
type and the location of the house may differ
significantly.<br />
<br />
2) Eligibility of the housing loan<br />
Most people are unable to afford to purchase a property
by cash. Hence most of them will turn to the banks to
apply for housing loan.
The banks will look at several factors prior approving
your loans. Those include;<br />
a) CCRIS (Central Credit Reference Information System)<br />
- this is a centralised database in Malaysia which can
be accessed by all of the financial institution
- the database will display all of your credit status
(loan amout, outstanding payment etc) for the past 12
months. Note that any record more than 12 months will be
deleted from the system. Hence, you need to make sure to
have good financial record 12 months prior to apply for
loan.
- if you have poor CCRIS record which means that you are
at high risk of defaulting a loan, it will significantly
affect your loan approval status<br />
<br />
In the past, you need to go to branches of Central
Bank of Malaysia (BNM) to print out your CCRIS record.
Now, you can view your CCRIS record online (Requires you
to go to BNM branch once to get the pin number)
(https://eccris.bnm.gov.my/)<br />
<br />
b) Debt Service Ratio (DSR)<br />
This is a ratio used to calculate the percentage of your
income that can be used to pay the monthly installments.
Rough calculation: Sum of all your commitments (house
loan, car loan, personal loan etc) divided by your total
income multiplied by 100
Each bank have different way of calculating your DSR and
have different guidelines on the level of acceptable DSR
Bank A may accept up to 60% of DSR and Bank B may be up
to 70%. Hence, it is imperative to go to several banks
to check on your eligibility criteria for housing loan<br />
<br />
c) Margin of finance (loan to value ratio, LTV)<br />
This means that how much the bank will give you the
loan. Most banks can give loan up to 90% of the property
price for the first house and the percentage will get
lower as you purchase second or third house.
Hence, if your loan is only 90% of the price, you need
to prepare cash for the remaining 10%.

<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">It has been quite long since I have posted anything in this blog.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">I was surfing the net and
accidentally came across a blog written by my junior colleague whom recently
completed the housemanship. Whilst reading the blog, it reminds me about my own
journey.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">The period of housemanship or
internship at Malaysia will usually take up about 2 years to be completed,
provided that you do not have any extensions in any of the six compulsory
postings.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Nowadays, the duration of
waiting to get a place in the housemanship has been getting longer and longer.
This is mainly due to limited places available in the training hospital. I
foresee that this problem will not be resolved in the near future and it will
get more complicated as more local and overseas medical students graduated for
the next few years. I personally believed the main problem is attributed to
mushrooming of the local medical schools with poor governance by the relevant
ministry.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">The period of housemanship has
been quite challenging for me. The initial transition period has been initially
quite daunting for me as I graduated from non-local medical school. For the
first few weeks, I was trying very hard to learn and understand the medical
abbreviations used in Malaysia. There were significant differences of
abbreviation used in Malaysia in comparison to my previous medical school.
Apart from that, I also need to comprehend the working attitude and culture
which was significantly different from what I was previously taught.<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">I still remember that I have to go to the hospital very early in the morning in order to take the blood samples from the patient. At the same time, I need to review the patient and present my assessment to the superior. It was tough but it gets better with time and experience. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">We are also expected to learn all the essential survival skills during the housemanship in case we were to be send to small district hospital in the future.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">With the passage of time, I have managed to overcome the initial
hurdle. I met many friends along the journey in which few of them I met again
in the future. The learning curve during the housemanship is very steep but in
retrospect, that knowledge will be quite useful in the future. It helps you to
understand the way things perceived in each specialty and assist you to make a
good referral to the appropriate team.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">I guess that by surviving the journey of housemanship, it helps you to build your own character and assist you in deciding your future pathway.<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">For those people who will be entering housemanship soon, I wish you all the best. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">When you are reaching the lowest point during the housemanship, remind yourself again and again the main reason of you choosing this career. Turn your stumbling blocks as stepping stones. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Dont ever give up as there are always light at the end of the darkest tunnel.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">

For my non-medical readers, MRCP stands for Membership of Royal College of Physician. In Malaysia, it represents post graduate examination for those doctors who would like to specialise in the internal medicine. After successfully passed the exam, then the doctor could pursue in other sub-specialty such cardiology, endocrinology, neurology etc.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There are three components of the exam: part 1, part 2A and part 2B (PACES). I have passed both part 1 and part 2A and currently sitting for part 2B (PACES). Both part 1 and part 2A have multiple choice questions examination papers whereas the part 2B have clinical examination stations.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For part 1, I find that by answering online questions have been quite helpful for my study. I subscribed to <a href="https://www.pastest.com/">Pastest</a> and able to finish the entire question bank. Apart from that, I have been reading <span class="st">Essential Revision Notes for MRCP by Philip A. Kalra as my main textbook.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="st"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="st">For part 2A, apart from answering online questions and using </span><span class="st">Rapid Review of Clinical Medicine for<em> </em>MRCP Part 2 by Shanjay Sharma for my textbook, I find that it was quite useful to create study group to pass the exam. The book by Shanjay Sharma was quite outdated (the latest edition was published in 2006!) and need to cross-check with the latest guideline. However, the algorithms published in the book was quite outstanding and help me to familiarise with the topics.<em><br /></em></span></div>

One day, a very wealthy man was walking on the road. Along the way, he saw a beggar on the sidewalk. The rich man looked kindly at the beggar and asked him why he was begging. The beggar said, "Sir, I've been unemployed for a year now. You look like a rich man. Sir, if you'll give me a job, I'll stop begging."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The rich man smiled and said, "I want to help you. But I won't give you a job. I'll do something better. I want you to be my business partner. Let's start a business together. The beggar blinked hard. "What do you mean, Sir? "I own a rice plantation. You could sell my rice in the market. I'll provide you the sacks of rice. I'll pay the rent for the market stall.. All you'll have to do is sell my rice. And at the end of the month, as Business Partners, we'll share in the profits. Tears of joy rolled down his cheeks.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Do I keep 5% and you get 95%? I'll be happy with any arrangement. The rich man shook his head and chuckled.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"No, I want you to give me the 2.5%. And you keep the 97.5%. For a moment, the beggar couldn't speak. He couldn't believe his ears. The deal was too good to be true. I want you to give me 2.5% of your profits so you grow"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The beggar now dressed a little bit better, operated a store selling rice in the market. He worked very hard. He woke up early in the morning and slept late at night. And sales were brisk, also because the rice was of good quality. And after 30 days, the profits were astounding.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At the end of the month, as the ex-beggar was counting the money. He told himself, Gee, why should I give 2.5% to my Business Partner? I didn't see him the whole month! I was the one who was working day and night for this business. I did all the work. I deserve 100% of the profits.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The rich man came to collect his 2.5% of the profits. The ex-beggar said, "You don't deserve the 2.5%. I worked hard for this. I deserve all of it!"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

The final part of my journey was spend at Mecca. At that time, the construction of the Holy Mosque is still ongoing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Due to the massive construction, the environment is dusty and the places where you can perform the prayers are limited. There are hundreds of massive cranes that are scattered around the mosque. Bear in mind that I went to perform umrah before the accident of crane collapses happens. <a href="http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/09/saudi-crane-collapse-kills-107-mecca-grand-mosque-150911232844846.html">Read here.</a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To describe the feeling that I felt upon seeing the Kaaba is beyond words. I am lucky and honoured to be selected to come to this Holy place. It is my hope that all of my prayers will be answered and that all of Muslims in the entire world would be able to live in peace again.</div>
<br />
To end my post, here are few pictures of the mosque including the on-going construction at that time.<br />

Al-Qadr (Power) - Chapter 97: Verse 2</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>"Would that you knew what the Night of Power is!"</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mwS7Z2hM4EY/VaDYrKMnhwI/AAAAAAAAA4Q/H_jkZTBuW4A/s1600/97-2.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mwS7Z2hM4EY/VaDYrKMnhwI/AAAAAAAAA4Q/H_jkZTBuW4A/s1600/97-2.gif" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When we look today in retrospect, after the lapse of numerous generations, at that glorious and happy night, imagine the fascinating celebration the world then witnessed, and ponder over the essence of revelation and its far-reaching effects on human life and values, we appreciate how great this event was. We can then understand, to some extent, why the Quranic reference to that night is made in such an equivocal way: "Would that you knew what the Night of Power is!"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Humanity, out of ignorance and to its misfortune, may overlook the value and importance of the Night of Power. When humanity does so ignore it, it loses the happiest and most beautiful sign of grace that God bestowed on it. It also suffers the loss of the real happiness and peace gifted to it by Islam, namely, the peace of conscience, family and society. What it has otherwise gained of material civilization is inadequate compensation for its loss. Humanity is miserable in spite of higher production levels and better means of existence. The splendid light that once illuminated its soul has been put out; the happiness that carried it high up to the Supreme society has been destroyed; the peace that overflowed in people’s hearts and minds has disappeared. Nothing can compensate for the happiness of the human soul, the heavenly light and elevation to the loftiest ranks.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We, the believers in Islam, are commanded not to forget or neglect this event. The Prophet has taught us an easy and enjoyable way to commemorate it, so that our souls may always be in close communion with it and with the universal event that it witnessed. He has urged us to spend this night of each year in devotion. He said: <b>“Seek the Night of Power in the last ten nights of Ramadan.” [Bukhari and Muslim.]</b> He also said: <b>“Whoever spends the Night of Power in worship, with a pure motive of faith and devotion, will have all his past sins forgiven.” [Bukhari and Muslim.]</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Islam is not mere formalities. Hence, the Prophet specifies that the consecration of that night must be motivated by faith and devotion. This would make its consecration by any individual an indication of his or her full awareness of the far-reaching effects of what took place on that night.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>The Islamic method of education and character building links worship with faith and establishes truth in our hearts and consciences.</b> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
By this method, worship is considered a means for maintaining full awareness of this truth, its clarification and firm establishment in our minds, hearts and souls. This method has been proved to be the best for the revival of this truth so that it has an unfailing influence on people’s behaviour. The theoretical understanding of this truth cannot, on its own and without worship, establish it or give it the necessary impetus for its operation in the life of the individual or society. This link between the anniversary of the Night of Power and its consecration in faith and devotion is a part of the successful and straightforward method of Islam.</div>

My first part of the trip was at Medina followed by Mecca. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Medina, the city of Holy Prophet. It reminds me the struggle of the Prophet and His Companions to relay the message of Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala and now Islam has been spread worldwide. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>The Prophet Mosque.</u></b> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It it the main attraction here at Medina. There are several interesting features of the mosque in comparison to the mosque in Malaysia. Apart from being the second largest mosque in the world, it also hosts the original house of the prophet and the final resting place of the Prophet and His Great companions. One of the place where supplications can be easily granted, Raudhah is also located in this mosque. There are lots of historical remains in this mosque. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>The giant umbrella</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is one of the most common structures featured in any television show whenever you talked about the Holy Prophet mosque. The umbrella is extremely tall in structure. I will let the picture shows how big and massive is the giant umbrella. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jUmZ8bm8jZk/VYUgE7YHBtI/AAAAAAAAA3w/IEmusFjDEzI/s1600/20141226_044113.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jUmZ8bm8jZk/VYUgE7YHBtI/AAAAAAAAA3w/IEmusFjDEzI/s400/20141226_044113.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ok2YGrY2klQ/VYUhbnxGgkI/AAAAAAAAA38/JAbaZAMEOeI/s1600/20141228_043056.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ok2YGrY2klQ/VYUhbnxGgkI/AAAAAAAAA38/JAbaZAMEOeI/s400/20141228_043056.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>The aircond</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I was surprised at first to see the location of air conditioning system at the mosque. It is located at the bottom of every pillar inside the mosque. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>Shoes </u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Perhaps not common in Malaysia, here in Saudi Arabia, you can bring shoes inside the mosque as long as you put your shoe in a clean container most often in the form of plastics. There are thousands of shoe racks inside the mosque. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>Raudhah. </u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This place is always crowded regardless of what time it is on the day. You have to come early to get inside to the Raudhah. There are allocated time for female and male to visit this place. However, this place is open to all Muslims during the compulsory prayer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One piece of advice from me....this also applies to Mecca as well. It is advisable to come extremely early to the mosque for every prayer time. Even during Fajr prayer, the mosque is already full one hour before the actual prayer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
to be continued...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">For many SPM leavers, one of the most
popular courses in the university will be the medical programme. Therefore,
in this post, I will be explaining the pathway of becoming a doctor and how to
become a specialist in Malaysia.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u><span style="font-family: inherit;">Foundation<o:p></o:p></span></u></b></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">After passing your SPM exam, you have to
join the foundation course. There are many foundation courses available such as
STPM, matriculation course, A-level, International Baccalaureate or any of the
university pre-medical programmes. These programmes usually last between 1-3
years. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u><span style="font-family: inherit;">Medical Schools<o:p></o:p></span></u></b></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">After successfully passing the foundation
course, you have to compete with thousands of applicants to get into the
medical programme. There are many local universities which have offered medical
degree in Malaysia. If you are fortunate, you may also able to go to overseas
to pursue your medical degree. On average, the duration of the medical
programme is between 5-6 years. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u><span style="font-family: inherit;">Housemanship/Internship<o:p></o:p></span></u></b></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">After graduating from the medical school,
you will be entitled to join the internship/housemanship at any government
hospital. In Malaysia, the duration of housemanship is 2 years. You have to do
six postings throughout your housemanship.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u><span style="font-family: inherit;">Medical officer<o:p></o:p></span></u></b></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Next will be your journey as a medical
officer. Depending on the availability, you will be posted to any
hospital/government clinics but not necessarily of your own choice. Please bear
in mind that as a government servant, the Ministry of Health has the right to
place its employee according to the availability. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I believe this is the longest part of
career as a doctor. This is the most important part of your career in which you
choose your own pathway.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">If you are no longer interested to pursue
in medicine, you can quit from the job and try to get an alternative job. If
you are keen to become a researcher, you can try applying for jobs in any of
the research centre in Malaysia or overseas. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><u>Specialist</u></b></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">If you are interested to pursue to become
a specialist, you can either join the local Master programme or if possible to
sit for any UK-based exam eg MRCP, MRCS, FRCR etc.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The local master programme last on average
4 years followed by 6 months period of gazettement. After you are recognised as
a specialist by Ministry of Health, you can choose to join the training

<b><u>King Abdul Aziz International Airport (Jeddah's Hajj Terminal)</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This airport is frequently used to handle pilgrims who are taking part in Hajj and umrah. I departed from Malaysia in the morning and arrived in the Jeddah's airport in the evening. The flight will usually last between 8 to 9 hours and the time zone in Saudi Arabia is about 5 hours later than Malaysia.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The most common problem that people will face at this airport will be the attitude of the immigration officer. It has been cited by many blogs including by my friends, and they have warned me in advance, that you should expect delay for several hours at this airport.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In my own experience, I was stuck at the airport for more than 5 hours. The immigration officer keeps on talking to themselves and intermittently close the counter without any proper explanation, and later ask the people who has been waiting for the past few hours to move on to the next counter.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Despite there were only two flights that arrived in the airport at that time, the immigration officers took about 5 hours to process the passengers from these two flights. Just imagine the situation when they are handling thousands of Hajj pilgrims during Hajj season.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Personally, I took this as a test to measure my patience. Let us hope that this situation will be improved in the future. </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>Madinah al Munawwarah</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After the delay at the airport, we travelled to Madinah via chartered buses. The journey took us about 6 hours with a stop in the middle of the travel for dinner. Madinah is located about 400km northeast of Jeddah. By this time, all of us were already sleep deprived and tired. Most of us were asleep during this journey.</div>

The picture above shows the location of the hotel in comparison to the Prophet's Mosque. Most of the hotels are located to the north and west side of the Holy Mosque. I stayed in one of those hotels and it was within walking distance to the Holy Mosque.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Baqi cemetery is located to the southeast of the Holy Mosque. This is the cemetery of the Prophet's companion.</div>

I will take more about Madinah in the following post...</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Alhamdulillah, I have returned from my
trip to Meccca and Madinah one week ago. The trip lasted about 2 weeks and
within those periods, many significant events happened in Malaysia. <o:p></o:p></div>
</div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
First was the massive flood that involves
multiple states in Malaysia. My hometown was also not spared from the disaster
and even my own parent has to relocate as my house was next to Sungai Perak.
Half of my hometown was flooded for more than one week.<o:p></o:p></div>
</div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Second was the crash of Indonesia Air Asia
aeroplane. Until today, they are still looking for the dead passengers and the
black box. This event will have significant impact to the future of budget
airlines in Indonesia.<o:p></o:p></div>
</div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Back to my umrah journey. This trip was
planned for few months in advance. This is my first time visiting the Holy
Land. Alhamdulillah, there were few surprises and lots of nice memory that I
have collected throughout the journey.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">

<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-left: 36.0pt; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Many Malaysians used to go to perform umrah via travel agents
albeit few will go independently. In my case, I follow the majority and arrange
the entire trip using a travel agent. There are many travel agents available in
Malaysia and it is up to you to choose which agent suits you the best<o:p></o:p></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-left: 36.0pt; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-left: 36.0pt; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In order to perform umrah while hoping that it will be blessed by
Allah, we need to increase our knowledge and learn the best way to perform this
act of worship. In this matter, I read few guides of umrah and explore hundreds
of blogs regarding their experience at Mecca and Madinah.<o:p></o:p></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-left: 36.0pt; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">

</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-left: 36.0pt; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The journey at Mecca and Madinah requires lots of stamina. Umrah
is a physical form of worship. During the trip, I used the pedometer app in my
smartphone and on average, I walked about 20000-25000 steps per day which
translates to about 18-23km per day!<o:p></o:p></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-left: 36.0pt; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->4.<span style="font-stretch: normal;"> </span><!--[endif]--><u>Spiritual<o:p></o:p></u></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-left: 36.0pt; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is a journey to cleanse a soul and a time for self-reflection.
This is not a journey of shopping, photography or any worldly matter. Prior to
the trip, it was advisable to perform night prayers and frequently asked
forgiveness from Allah for any wrongdoings, whether intentional or
unintentional. Personally, I always check regarding my nawaitu of visiting the
Holy Land. It is best to go there with an open, sincere heart and willing to
prepare for any tests that we will encounter during this journey.</div>

A long hiatus indeed....</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the past 5 years, I have been privileged to manage wide range of patients, from all walks of life.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the most challenging aspects in my work profession is to deal with the end of life care.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In medical school, most of us will be taught the latest evidence and the proper medical care to save live. In fact, most folks would always expect their doctor to do utmost care to save their loved ones. In the same line of thinking, it will be a big surprise to most people when the doctors informed them that there is nothing much that the modern medicine can do when the patient has been receiving multiple treatment and investigation. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On a personal note, it is very difficult and emotionally taxing when someone close to you is dying and leaving you forever. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Naturally, we will do as much as possible within our limited capacity and time to overcome those impossible boundaries. The boundary of death, of which separates the two universe. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The world of death is always associated with fear, anxiety, guilt and extreme sadness. Every time someone passing through the graveyard or saw someone just passed away, most of the time it will invoke our subconscious emotion. It will remind us of those who have left us in the past. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When faced with this scenario, I would always remind myself that things happen for a reason, which may remain invisible for now.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial, Times; margin-left: 15px; margin-right: 15px; text-align: justify;">
On the authority of Abdullah bin Abbas, who said : One day I was behind the prophet and he said to me:</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial, Times; margin-left: 15px; margin-right: 15px; text-align: justify;">
<div style="margin-left: 15px; margin-right: 15px; text-align: start;">
"Young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice] : Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, ask of Allah; if you seek help, seek help of Allah. Know that if the Nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, it would benefit you only with something that Allah had already prescribed for you, and that if they gather together to harm you with anything, they would harm you only with something Allah had already prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried."</div>
<div style="margin-left: 15px; margin-right: 15px; text-align: start;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 15px; margin-right: 15px; text-align: start;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">The life of the world is nothing but a game and a diversion. The abode of the hereafter—that is truly Life if they only knew. (Surat al-'Ankabut: 64)</span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 15px; margin-right: 15px; text-align: start;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Al-Fatihah to my beloved aunty who passed away few days ago and to my grandfather who passed away exactly one year ago. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
May Allah give great courage and wisdom to my 28 year old sister in-law who recently been diagnosed with advanced metastatic cancer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Two scenes that has different outcome....</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is disheartening for me to see that innocent people are being killed mercilessly and that we are defenseless and powerless to change the outcome of those scenario.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In time of Ramadhan, let us wish that Allah grant a place in heaven for those innocent people and grant peace for all Muslims.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
----------------------------------------------------------</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
298 people killed in the MH17 disaster. Over 600 killed in Gaza. The elite western reaction to these two different tragedies – one still ongoing – tells us so much about the world we live in. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Even though no conclusive evidence has yet been produced that rebels in the east of Ukraine did shoot down the Malaysian airliner, Western elites, neocon and faux-left commentators have gone on a foaming-at-the-mouth anti-Russian frenzy holding President Putin personally responsible for the deaths and hurling abuse at those of us who don’t join in the “It’s all Russia’s fault” blame game. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although we don't have conclusive proof that Russia did supply the rebels with the equipment that would enable them to shoot down an aircraft travelling at such a high altitude (Russia has issued firm denials), we are told that “the world is watching Putin” and that Russia must be punished with yet more sanctions. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yet in Gaza, we know for sure who is doing the killing or at least the vast majority of it. However, there is no elite condemnation of Israel here – just silence, or else repeated platitudes about how Israel is justified in launching a military operation on grounds of “self defense” and how Hamas must stop its rocket attacks. Whatever Israel does, even if it’s killing children who were playing football on the beach, there are excuses made for its behavior.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyone watching the events of the past week from another planet would find it all rather bewildering. </div>

Alhamdulillah, my wife delivered a beautiful daughter on 26th July, roughly about 2 weeks ago. The 9 month journey of waiting has ended and my wife and I are now joining the club of parenthood.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Both of us are new in this world of parenthood and there are literally millions of things that I personally need to learn either by experience or by asking someone who is more experienced. Although I am a doctor and knows roughly regarding the developmental milestones of an infant and the commonly occurring healthcare related problems in children, the journey itself is a different thing altogether.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
An example would be breastfeeding. It is quite difficult in the first few days for my wife to establish good breastfeeding technique. On top of that, the baby is becoming more jaundice due to insufficient breastfeeding. It took us lots of time and patience to establish the breastfeeding. At one point, I personally had to take the blood from my daughter to check the level of bilirubin. Fortunately, the bilirubin level is below the phototherapy level and she does need to be admitted to the hospital. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Staying in Malaysia means that you will encounter the tradition, that has been passed on from generation to generation. During the postnatal period, there are lots of taboos especially among Malays of things that you could or couldn't do during the postpartum period. There are certain taboos that made me wonder regarding its motives and whether it is actually beneficial to the mother and the baby.
