Disturbing radiology images

Warning: Viewer discretion is advised.

From ABC News via [Kevin MD.]

Bizarre radiology images.

Part of being a medical student is the ability to be calm whenever facing a major trauma. Hence, we have been shown weird and traumatic images since first year. The ability to calm down is important since it can have a direct effect towards the patient.

Imagine your doctor being more anxious than you. How do you think that would affect the patient?

@ Sarah, Forensic Medicine seems to be an interesting branch of medicine. However, I'm more interested to see a live patient rather than a dead one :)

@ hayad, gambar tu jadi macam tu sebab banyak paku masuk dalam kepala dan leher dia.

@ hayad, jawapan from ABC News

"Australian police are still searching for clues in the death of 27-year-old Chen (Anthony) Liu, whom homicide squad detectives believe died from injuries sustained from a high-powered nail gun. In this police handout image made available April 24, 2009, the X-ray clearly shows 34 nails embedded in Chen's skull. Chen's decomposing body was discovered in Sydney's Georges River in November 2008."

Hafiz, memang la kalau dapat berdepan dengan pesakit/mangsa yang masih hidup jauh lagi mencabar (dan best) tapi based on these radiology images, most of them ended of with death. So, during Forensic Med class, these kinds of images are very common. That's what I meant. =)

@ hayad, semoga polis tu dapat cari siapa pembunuh orang tu.

@ diya, jangan sampai masuk mimpi yer.

@ sarah, forensic medicine always remind me of CSI. Sometimes, when you investigate the cause of death, you can get unexpected result.
