Ten words of wisdom
(Abundant) was the produce this man had : he said to his companion, in the course of a mutual argument: "more wealth have I than you, and more honour and power in (my following of) men."
The Most Satisfying Two-Letter Word"WE". Use It.
Say: "Shall we indeed call on others besides Allah,- things that can do us neither good nor harm,- and turn on our heels after receiving guidance from Allah? - like one whom the evil ones have made into a fool, wandering bewildered through the earth, his friends calling, come to us', (vainly) guiding him to the path." Say: "Allah's guidance is the (only) guidance, and we have been directed to submit ourselves to the Lord of the worlds;
The Most Poisonous Three-Letter Word"EGO". Kill It.
The Most Used Four-Letter Word"LOVE". Value It.
The Most Pleasing Five Letter Word"SMILE". Keep It.
That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears;
The Fastest Spreading Six-Letter Word"RUMOUR". Ignore It.
O ye who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, ye would abhor it...But fear Allah: For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
The Hardest Working Seven Letter Word"SUCCESS". Achieve It.
By men whom neither traffic nor merchandise can divert from the Remembrance of Allah, nor from regular Prayer, nor from the practice of regular Charity: Their (only) fear is for the Day when hearts and eyes will be transformed (in a world wholly new),
The Most Enviable Eight-Letter Word"JEALOUSY". Distance It.
They said: "Truly Joseph and his brother are loved more by our father than we: But we are a goodly body! really our father is obviously wandering (in his mind)!
The Most Powerful Nine-Letter Word"KNOWLEDGE". Acquire It (of Allah & the Holy Qu'ran).
By the Qur'an, full of Wisdom
We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an, in order that ye may learn wisdom.
The Most Essential Ten-Letter Word"CONFIDENCE". Trust It (Trust in Allah's Guidance).
Say: "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our protector": and on Allah let the Believers put their trust.
Those who believe, and work righteousness,- their Lord will guide them because of their faith: beneath them will flow rivers in gardens of bliss.

fragmented neurons
TLC, FRC, IC, RV, VC, FVC, FEV1 when suddenly these words popped out of nowhere... MCV, DRE, IVC, SVC...
Certainly something wrong have happened to my neurons. To those non-medical readers, the former list of nmemonics were all related to respiratory physiology. TLC - total lung capacity, FRC - functional residual capacity, IC - inspiratory capacity, RV - residual volume, VC - vital capacity, FVC - forced vital capacity, FEV 1 - forced expired capacity in 1 second...
but the latter list were not all related to the respiratory physiology. MCV - mean corpuscular volume, one type of blood test; DRE - digital rectal examination, physical examination on the rectum; IVC - inferior vena cava, main vein in the body; SVC - superior vena cava, another important vein in the body;
Seemingly my neurons are fragmented. It is not surprising that I got little headache in learning all those jargons. Those abbreviations I couldn't delete it forever since I will used it the clinical years and when I treat the patients later. As the computer need to be maintained frequently by defragmentation and partition...hmm, I guess I need to do a little bit of 'defragmentation' of those neurons this very weekend. Too much info being trapped into my precious neurons. Need to sort it out before I lose control of the massive information of the world of medicine....
Too many abbreviations in this world of medicine. Every letter mean something in everything....I really need to fix my neurons now...

departing from summer holiday...
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Why are the drums so silent?
go any deeper than our throats?
Why are the drums so silent?
What’s wrong with you and I?
If we beat the drum… (a whisper of peace…)
"Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler/wayfarer." Ibn 'Umar used to say: "When evening comes, do not expect (to live till) morning, and when morning comes, do not expect (to live till) evening. Take from your health (a preparation) for your illness, and from your life for your death."

100 tahun meneroka sejarah....
1905 - 2005

Signs of the Last Day
This is a brief summary of the signs; there are many books, articles, cassettes etc. which discuss these in greater detail. May Allah enable us to recognise and heed the Signs, and strengthen us in the times of tribulation.
"Are they waiting for anything except the Hour, to come to them suddenly? But its Signs have already come!" (Al-Qur’an, Surah Muhammad)
Past
1. Splitting of the Moon.
2. Death of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
3. A form of death which will kill thousands of Muslims. (Understood to refer to the plague of Amwas during the caliphate of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab.)

5. The Muslim conquest of Jerusalem.
6. The Muslim conquest of Constantinople.
7. Two large groups of Muslims will fight in war.
8. A war between the Muslims and a reddish people with small eyes, wearing sandals made of hair (understood to refer to the Mongol Tatar invasion of the Islamic lands that almost destroys the great civilasation)

21. A man will pass by the grave of another and wish he was in the latter’s place.
22. Trustworthiness will be lost, i.e. when authority is given to those who do not deserve it. (How many corrupted leaders you know?)
23. People will gather for prayer, but will be unable to find an imam to lead them. (Too many people didn't practise Islam as it should be till nobody feel qualified as imam, can also be interpreted as the loss of the Caliph)
Future
24. The number of men will decrease, whilst the number of women will increase, until for every man there are 50 women. (probably due to massive war or disease that kills many men?)
25. The Euphrates will reveal a treasure of gold, and many will die fighting over it, each one hoping to be the one who gains the treasure. (The Euphrates is located between Turkey, Iraq and Syria...hmm, isn't the Iraq war was caused by the oil {oil = gold}?)

27. The Muslim conquest of Rome.

29. Jesus Christ will descend in Damascus, and pray behind the Mahdi.
30. Jesus will break the cross and kill the swine, i.e. destroy the false christianity.
31. The Antichrist (al-masih al-dajjal, the false christ) will appear, with all his tools of deception, and be an immense trial. He will be followed by 70,000 Jews from Isfahan (present-day Iran).
32. The appearance of Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog), and the associated tribulations.
33. The emergence of the Beast from the Earth, carrying the Staff of Moses and the Seal of Solomon, who will speak to the people, telling them they did not believe with certainty in the Divine Signs.

Despite the numerous signs we saw and experienced daily, how many times our faith strengthened? Are we waiting to see the ultimate day to be convinced?

ampun kemaafan....
Yang merah itu saga,
Yang cantik itu budi,
Yang indah itu bahasa,
Menara api haluan perahu,
Patah galah embun berderai,
Niat hati siapa yang tahu,
Sekali salah hancur birai,
Buah berangan masaknya merah,
Kelekati di dalam perahu,
Luka di tangan nampak berdarah,
Luka di hati siapa tahu,
Terlajak perahu boleh diundur,
Terlajak kata buruk padahnya,
Terlajak perahu boleh diukur,
Terlajak kata hilang percaya,
Menambah ceria di persada mewangi,
Mencoret kata berpantun di sini,
Salah sedikit usah dikenangi,
Lupakan saja apa yang terjadi,
Ngauman rimau raja rimba,
Terkejut kancil teringat derita,
Sifat alpa adat manusia,
Maaf tuan hamba pinta,

Freaky storm here...
Shortly after 8am (AEDT) a passer-by told police that a young boy was in Skeleton Creek under the Sayers Road Bridge in Tarneit, in the city's south west.
However flooding continued to cause problems, with a swollen creek this morning trapping a man and woman in their cars at Arthurs Creek, about 40km north-east of Melbourne.
"And because it's such a strong low pressure system, we also have very strong winds."
High winds caused an 80m jib to snap from a crane at the MCG overnight, where construction company Grocon is building new spectator stands.
NSW, meanwhile, was recovering from storms late yesterday which blacked out thousands of homes around Sydney and on the Central Coast.

Final note for Wandin & Cobram...
