This are the list of common medical abbreviations that I've learned throughout this semester.

STEMI - ST elevation of myocardial infarction
NSTEMI - Non ST elevation of myocardial infarction
COPD - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
HOCM - Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy

# NOF - Fracture neck of femur
ORIF - Open reduction and internal fixation
DDH - Developmental dysplasia of the hip
SUFE - Slipped upper femoral epiphysis
FOOSH - Fall on outstretched hand

RA - Rheumatoid Arthritis
OA - Osteoarthritis
AS - Ankylosing Spondylitis

BCC - Basal cell carcinoma
SCC - Squamous cell carcinoma
HSV - Herpes simplex virus
VZV - Varicella Zoster virus
PDT - Photo Dynamic Therapy
PUVA - Psoralen and ultraviolet A

NPDR - Non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy
PDR - Proliferative diabetic retinopathy
HONK - Hyper osmolar non-ketotic
IRMA - Intra-retinal Microvascular Abnormalities

ABI - ankle brachial index
AT - anterior tibial
DVT - Deep Vein Thrombosis
CVI - Chronic Venous Insufficiency
PT - posterior tibial
PA - peroneal artery
TOS - thoracic outlet syndrome
PTA - Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty

RAS - Renal Artery Stenosis
GN - Glomerulonephritis
MCGN - Minimal Change Glomerulonephritis
TBMN - Thin Basement Membrane Nephropathy
FSGS - Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis
RPGN - Rapidly Progressive Glomerulo Nephritis

BNO - Bladder Neck Obstruction
BPH - Benign Prostate Hyperplasia
TRUS - Trans-Rectal Ultrasound
PSA - Prostate Specific Antigen
DRE - Digital Rectal Examination
