Hallucination

definition - A false perception occurring without any true sensory stimulus.

This week PBL case was on a schizophrenia patient who has this illusion that he has been commanded by Bill Gates to unite the world and later to leave his body and entering the network of computer.

Interesting to note that how such a person could changed rather dramatically. I have known one of my friends who dramatically changed his personality overnight and later send to psychiatric clinic. Pity him for he had to postponed a year of his education.

Hallucination is a big matter indeed. Something that we assumed true and later we found out that the thing is false. How frustating that would be. From hallucination, stem out fear and perhaps obsess.

Thinking of this hallucination, I suddenly remember this verse.

"And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But far better is the house in the Hereafter for those who are Muttaqun. Will you not then understand?" [Al-an'am: 32]

Imagine you are now entering the gate called death and behind that gate, you met someone who asked you about your deed [amal]. What have you brought for the hereafter?

The gate is now closed forever and you can't returned back to the world. Back in those days spending time in the temporal world, you laughed heartily and spend time to waste. More than once, someone or something reminds you to remember the hereafter and to worship dilligently but you always forgot.

The life behind the gate seems so far away to the extent it is an imaginary. Imaginary or not, you are now seeing those life behind the gate with your own eyes. Second chance is not permissible. Whatever you done in this world will be judged.

Hallucinating we always are. The life behind the gate of death seems to far away to be mentioned. We are still in early 20's. Still growing and still learning. Death, give us some time to enjoy this world. But, have we not have enough?

For more than 20 years, isn't it enough yet? If we are given 20 years to prepare for an exam, logically we should have prepared a lot for those exam by now. At least, if we fail, we could sit for supplementary exam ;) But the exam behind those gate of death is only once and no second chance is given. Be prepared. Don't hallucinate too much on this temporal world guys!
